L-Bar Sealing shrink wrapping machines are used to package products such as food, CDs, DVDs, software, cassette tapes, chocolates, videotapes, documents, etc. Shrink wrapping is a quick and easy way to protect goods from wear and exposure damage. How does an L-Bar sealer work?

This type of equipment incorporates an L shaped sealer bar to cut the film around the outside shape of a package. Because the work is done in a single pass, this type of packaging equipment is very fast. Once a product has been sealed within the plastic film, it is shrunk with an attached heated shrink tunnel whose capacity matches the speed of the L-bar sealer.

What type of Film can be used?

Two kinds of film are available with L-bar shrink wrapping machines:
PVC shrink wrapping film has traditionally been used for CDs and DVDs. It cannot be used with food, and does give of a faint smell in the shrinking process. In addition, it is somewhat brittle.

Polyolefin shrink wrapping film is safe for food products and costs about the same as PVC film. It gives off almost no odor and can be used inside production facilities.
